Semester ONE
Exercise 1
- Create 2 library items - a piece of text and an image. Place them in two separate documents. Change the library items. Verify that they've changed in the 2 documents.
- Make a new webpage in Dreamweaver with material at the top and bottom of the page. Add the word "body" (without formatting) in the middle of the page. Select the word "body" and make it an editable part of a template by selecting "Editable Region" under "Template Objects" in the "Insert" menu. Save the page as a template. Now make a new page based on the template with some body material inserted.
- Macromedia provides Dreamweaver templates on their website, and the E-zine set can be unzipped in your web folder in a folder of its own. Do the Macromedia tutorial on templates is associated with the sample site.
- I have used templates throughout this site. Some areas are editable some are not.
- The Menu Bar of the left is NOT editable. It can only be changed in the template.
- The Banner at the top of the page is NOT editable. It can only be changed in the template.
- The dark blue Title Bar under the Banner at the top of the page is NOT editable. It can only be changed in the template.
- The Lesson No & Description are both editable.
- This area (Exercise No) is also editable.
- The Banner at the bottom of the page is NOT editable. It can only be changed in the template.
- I have used templates throughout this site. Some areas are editable some are not.
