Lesson 2 » Selections in Photoshop.

Exercise 1

• Make a transparent GIF by opening an image in Photoshop. Make it into a layer. Select a part of the image to be deleted/transparent. Hit the delete key. Save it for web as a GIF with transparency. Place it on a web page that has a background colour, so the transparency of the image is evident.
  
  • The background fire has been removed from the original.

Exercise 2

• Make a background image for a webpage that has "watermark" characteristics. Place the above image on that webpage as a background.
  
  • This background image is used on my home page.

Exercise 3

• Make a collage by finding an image of a flower, cut around it and place it over another image of a suitable background. Place a couple of other cut images on the same background.
  
  • This first row are the original pictures.
