Semester ONE

Lesson 3 » Layers and Text in Photoshop.

Exercise 1

• Create a text layer with a bold, stocky font. Make it 3-dimensional in some way. Make a new layer underneath it. With that new layer active, make a selection of the type layer and fill it with black. De-select the selection(!!) then apply a gaussian blur to that active layer. Move it around until the shadow effect looks real in relation to the original 3D effect. Save for web.

Exercise 3

• Take the image called pen.jpg and put the name of your business on a light green, recycled paper page. Use a script font to enhance the impression that it is being written by the hand.
  
  • The first image is one from the teacher. The second is my modified image. Notice the pen and hand is on a different background and my logo is there too.
